Will Platte Canyon Adopt a 4 Day School Week?
During the most recent school board meeting the Platte Canyon Board of Education listened to a presentation from several district employees including the head of the district business office, transportation/custodian leadership and the Administrator of Educational Support Services concerning the need for a 4 day school week. The presentation included a potential for cost savings that could not be quantified by the presenters.
PACE has used its resources to present the potential savings that the district will accrue by shifting staff and students to a 4 day school week. These savings are to be added into the current salary schedule for teachers and staff.
Potential savings = $207,273.00/100 employees = $2072.73 average annual salary increase. Paid out over the year represents a $172.73 average monthly increase per employee.
With such a small savings will the BOE adopt a 4 day week?
