4-Day School Week to Begin in Platte Canyon School District
The failing 4A bond resulted in approval of Platte Canyon School District moving to a 4-day school week. Many parents had expressed dissatisfaction with this move to a 4-day week due to lack of care for children, cost of care for children when the school is not in session and educational harm caused by lack of schooling hours. The BOE had some discussion and voted 4 yes votes and one improper abstention by Mr. Van DeHey.
Beginning in school year 2023-2024 PCSD will implement the 4 day school week.
