The CDE has released its approved reading curriculum

In 2019 the new READ act requires that all Colorado school districts use a "K-3 reading curriculum backed by science." The law was updated due to lackluster reading scores across the State. For more information check out this article from Chalkbeat.

Platte Canyon School District currently uses Lucy Calkins reading program for elementary reading instruction which DID NOT make the approved curriculum list (see the approved list). The school board should be addressing this issue in the coming months.
